Our first-ever Scavenger Hunt came to a close last week, after a hot month of trivia, photo-taking, and video missions that sent hunters traipsing across north Seattle.
Our GRAND PRIZE ($100/person to PCC Community Markets) went to the Detective Mittens team who eked out a victory after a fierce back-and-forth with the Poultry Princess team. These two teams spent most of our month-long scavenger hunt neck-and-neck until, after a turbulent final day, Detective Mittens claimed the top spot by completing challenges like “Leave a book at a free little library,” “Paint a rock with a kind message and leave it for someone to find in Fremont Peak Park,” and “record your team singing “Our House” by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.”
But Poultry Princess didn’t go home empty-handed. They won one of the bonus prizes ($25/person to Greenwood Hardware) for their photo of “The most birds you can fit in one photo.” It was an appropriate prize for this poultry-minded royalty! Here’s their winning photo:
We had 17 teams participate overall, and we had a lot of fun helping everyone get a little break from our collective pandemic cabin fever. So we’ll host another one soon!
Our next scavenger hunt will take place in West Seattle early this summer. Stay tuned—and if you have suggestions for new missions, please leave a comment below!
