Near the middle of North-Central Seattle, lies one of Seattle’s most beloved neighborhoods, Green Lake. The area is known for its charming homes and tree-lined streets that surround the lake. The park is a great escape to nature from the urban feel of North Seattle.
Green Lake Park
Green Lake itself has countless opportunities for activities and year-round fun! In the Summer you may see people swimming in the lake, kayaking, playing on the sports courts, or splashing in the splash pool. Year-round you will find that the trail around the lake is a popular spot for walking, running, rollerblading, and biking! The trail is paved and just under 3 miles round trip. It’s pretty flat the entire way which makes this trail great for all ages, and abilities. Keep your eyes open for ducks and geese!
The Neighborhood
Just off the trail, there are restaurants and cafes like Chocolati, Dukes Seafood, and Green Lake Grill. Or head into Ben and Jerry’s to cool off with an ice cream cone on a hot summer day. Just a few blocks from the lake there are also great shopping options! With a PCC grocery store, Whole Foods, and many fitness establishments.
Woodland Park Zoo
Just a stone’s throw away from the park is the Woodland park zoo. The zoo is home to over a thousand animals total, and 300 different species! This outing is perfect for all ages and is also accessible with minimal physical barriers.
