I (Darcie) got to hand over the keys to these sweet new homeowners last Friday! G. and L. pushed through the worst of the pandemic craziness to get this home, and I could not be happier for them.
They originally got into contract back in February, on Leap Day. Things were just starting to look wonky with sickness and voluntary working-from-home. Their home was under construction, just three weeks shy of completion. And then—shutdown. Construction stopped.
G. and L. had counted on a normal timeline, so the lease on their current rental was going to end before their new home would be ready for them. Fortunately, their landlord gave them flexibility, and they were able to juggle some other things around until construction resumed and they could finally close. The real estate and construction worlds have since figured out how to work safely amid the pandemic, but for a hot minute there, none of us knew exactly what was going to happen with G. and L.’s plans.
But the stress and uncertainty of moving during COVID-19 didn’t deter these two, and now, for the first time ever, they’re official homeowners! Congrats, G. and L.
