The Cascade Bicycle Club offers everyone a chance to ride a bicycle on the Alaskan Way Viaduct in either the 3-mile “Viaduct Experience” or the 12-mile “Emerald City Ride.” Both rides take place April 8.
3-mile SR 99 Viaduct Experience
Designed for families with children and beginning riders, this fun, mostly flat route will give you a chance to experience the SR 99 Viaduct by bike. You’ll be able to stop, look around, take a photo, and enjoy the view. This route begins and ends on E. Frontage Rd. S. just west of Pyramid Alehouse.

- 85 feet of elevation gain
- Out and back on the SR 99 Viaduct
- Start line open from 9:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Please do not begin early or you will be mixed up with the faster riders doing the full loop.
- $25 for adults (13+)
- $10 for youth (1–12)
12-Mile Emerald City Ride
Riders will pedal up the SR 99 Viaduct on ramp heading north, which will be fully closed to cars, for nearly five miles. Riders will then pedal through Fremont past Gas Works Park to the access the I-5 Express lanes heading south to downtown, exiting at 5th and Cherry and then heading south on 5th Ave. through the International District back to the finish at Pyramid Alehouse.

- Start line open from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
- $40 for adults (13+)
- $25 for youth (1–12)
Both rides will start and end on E. Frontage Road S just west of Pyramid Alehouse. On-street parking is free on Sundays, and the Safeco Field parking garage will be open for off-street parking.
Schedule
6 a.m. Pyramid Alehouse Start Line/Finish Line area with info booth, exhibitors and souvenir giveaways opens.
7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Course open for 12-mile “full loop”riders to start.
9:15 to 9:30 a.m. Course open for 3-mile Viaduct riders to start.
9:30 a.m. Access to I-5 Express Lanes closed to riders.
10 a.m. Full 12-mile loop riders must be off I-5 Express Lanes.
9:30 a.m. Access to SR 99 Viaduct closed.
11 a.m. 3-mile out and back riders must be off Viaduct.
11 a.m. End of ride and all route support ends.
11:30 a.m. Finish Line closes.
9 a.m. – 1 p.m. After party at the Pyramid Alehouse
